Day Laborers Helping to Restore Hurricane Devastated Communities

Support Migrant Workers Rebuilding after Hurricane Harvey

After the devastation of Hurricane Harvey, Houston is embarking down the long road to recovery, and it is clear that this arduous task cannot happen without the help of low-wage laborers. At each of the estimated 126,000 homes that were damaged, a reconstruction crew can be found, putting in 12 hours a day to clear the rubble and rebuild.

Fe y Justicia and NDLON are collaborating to provide urgently needed training and protective equipment to these frontline reconstruction workers in Houston. The equipment needed includes hard hats, respirators, steel-toed boots, gloves, protective goggles, earplugs, and work belts. $50 will buy a basic safety kit while a $125 donation will provide the basic safety kit plus proper work boots.

Donate to the Reconstruction Works TX campaign now, and help us buy life-saving equipment to protect workers from exposure to mold, downed electrical lines, contaminated flood waters and other toxic materials.
